Terms of use

Legal-Last verified 2026-10-31

By using statewages.com you accept these terms. They are short and there are no hidden ones.

Reference, not advice

StateWages summarises wage and payroll law for general guidance. It is not legal advice and no adviser-client relationship is created. Wage law turns on facts, and two employees in the same building can be covered by different rules. Where the amount at stake is significant, check the primary source and, if needed, take advice.

Accuracy and verification

Every page carries a last verified date. Figures are the higher of the applicable federal and state requirement at the time of checking, and where a local ordinance is higher, the page says so. Rates that are indexed change annually and state rates change on statutory dates. Because of that, a figure on this site can be out of date even where the page has not changed, and the effective-date notice published by the relevant agency always takes precedence.

Permitted use

Third-party content

Advertising is served by third parties whose content and cookies are outside our control. Outbound links are provided for reference and their own terms apply.

Availability

The site is provided as is. There is no warranty of uninterrupted availability and no service level. Pages may change, and pages may be removed.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, StateWages is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site, including a decision taken on the basis of a figure that has since changed. Where liability is found, it is limited to the amount paid to use the site, which for most readers is nothing.

Governing terms and changes

These terms may be updated, and the last verified date on this page records the current version. Continued use after a change accepts it. Questions go to hello@statewages.com.

Our takeThe one term worth reading is the accuracy clause. Rates move on fixed dates, we verify on dates we print on the page, and the version in force is always the agency's, never ours.
